Mundane Magick

Having celebrated a magickal life for so long I am no stranger to the idea that there is a lot of mundane magick being performed all the time. This year of no formal magick has made me keenly aware of how much mundane magick I do all the time. Most work, both in the house and the yard, embraces magick. Wash the dishes, you’re putting energy into healthy meals. Gather flowers, you’re bringing joy into your home. Make the bed, good sleep; mow the grass, defining boundaries; dust, removing negative energy; clean the car, safe travels. And if I have to explain the mundane magick of sweeping to any witch/Wiccan, you need to take remedial classes in magick of all kinds. We all, magick user or not, use a lot of mundane magick at our workplace, even if it’s just keeping irritations away from you.

I get really annoyed with witches who think they only do magick if they are in a circle casting a spell. They are guilty of doing magick and forgetting that magick isn’t what we do, it’s what we are. Once you learn that even the most mundane of tasks becomes an act of magick.
